Less Than $150 Flower Themed 100 Days Celebration

A baby’s 100th day is the day they turn 100 days old. It is commonly celebrated in Chinese and Korean cultures, as a celebratory day because back in the day, babies were weak and often would not live past 100 days. People didn’t want to jinx their baby so they would hold off on celebrating their newborn until they made it past 100 days. In Chinese culture, this celebration is called Red Egg and Ginger party, where there’s usually eggs dyed in red and ginger which symbolizes good fortune, and fertility and new beginnings. My parents didn’t require us to celebrate this way and so we decided to celebrate how we wanted. I wanted something elegant but also not very complicated. So I opted to go with a flower theme.

Banner ($31) – I found a seller on etsy who makes the cutest wooden and banner signs. The banner sign wasn’t too expensive, and I wanted to keep everything pretty low cost. This sign allows you to customize different Chinese or Korean characters. I asked if I could also add an English name to it and she gave me a recommendation on the placement and changing the font size to keep the design looking the right style. She also has a lot of other great name signs that look really nice if you’d like to spend a lot more.

Cake Topper ($19) – Got the cake topper from the same seller that I bought the banner from. It had 100 days engraved on a thin round piece of birchwood. Such an easy piece to add onto any cake for a nice elegant touch.

Cookies ($0) – I made these myself, decided to go with flowers. This all took me a day to make. Had some cookies with my daughters name on it, and I even created an egg shape cookie and wrote 100 on it. The color theme was green, pink, and yellow.

Flowers ($24) – I bought my bouquet of flowers from a local restaurant called The Press which sold fresh flowers from a flower business called Dutch Roots Farm. This flower company is located in Ripon, CA, which is in between Stockton and Modesto, and they deliver bouquets of flowers to The Press every Thursday. This bouquet had 3 dahlias, they were so pretty. It also had this green moss looking plant that draped over. I also purchased some baby’s breath from Trader Joe’s.

Cake ($48) – The cake is from a Bakery called Hanabi Cakes. This was our first time trying their cakes. We ordered the Peach Palace, which was a cream cheese lemon chiffon cake, with crafted peach coulis, vanilla whipping ganache cream, edible gold flakes, and white chocolate crunchy pearls. I thought the presentation of the cake was really beautiful, however the taste wasn’t the greatest. I’ve also been eating a lot of cake from Butter& recently, so the bar is set high. Nevertheless, I think this is a great cake to add to your celebration table so really happy with the purchase
